Commitment
The Travelling Techie is committed to meeting WCAG 2.2 level AA, the international W3C standard, on all its pages, in French and in English. This commitment is not a statement of conformance verified by a third party.
Measures in place
- A skip link at the start of every page leads directly to the content.
- The whole site can be navigated with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. The mobile menu works without JavaScript and closes with the Escape key.
- Body text, links and labels have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 with their background. The brand orange, which has less contrast (3.7:1), is reserved for large headings and decorative elements.
- Every illustration has a text alternative that describes it and states that it is generated by artificial intelligence; the logo, which is decorative, is ignored by screen readers.
- Animations and scrolling effects stop when your system asks to reduce motion.
- Every page declares its language, has a unique title and follows a hierarchical heading structure, with a single main heading.
- The content remains readable without JavaScript; the Dispatch filters are plain links.
- The layout adapts to the width of the screen, from phones to large displays.
- Every page exists in French and in English; the language link in the header leads to the same page in the other language.
Known limitations
- Cited sources and external links lead to sites whose accessibility is beyond our control, and to documents that may exist only in their original language.
- Code blocks in the analyses and experiments scroll horizontally on small screens.
- In the subscription form, the example text in the email field has less contrast (3.8:1); the field's label meets the required contrast.
